Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje, North Macedonia, is the country’s first state university, founded in 1949. It is the oldest and largest public research university in the country.

It boasts a diverse academic landscape with 23 faculties, 5 scientific institutes, 4 public scientific institutions as affiliated members, 1 affiliated higher education institution, and 7 affiliated organizations. Its operations are governed by the Law on Higher Education and the University Statute. With over 36,000 students enrolled in various cycles, from undergraduate to doctoral studies, Over 3,100 academic, research, and administrative staff are involved in the educational and research processes at the faculties and institutes. UKIM is a hub for education and research. 

Beyond its academic and research activities, the University is characterized by its rich tradition of extracurricular involvement, including sports, arts, information, recreational, and other activities organized through various societies, unions, clubs, and similar organizations.
